Are you one of those search nerds who's not happy unless you can search with regular expressions or Boolean operators? Well we're keeping it simple here, but if you care, here's a little about how you can search DCComics.com:
- Our search is an AND search. That means results MUST contain ALL the terms you enter. If you want more general results, enter less terms. If you want more specific results, enter more terms.
- You can use quotes to narrow your search even further. Searching for ["batman archive"] enclosed in quotes will give you less results than searching for [batman archive] without quotes. For example:
- [jim jee superman] will match SUPERMAN: INFINITE CRISIS even though Jim Lee didn't work on that book since Phil Jimenez and Lee Bermejo did.
- ["jim lee" superman] will not match SUPERMAN: INFINITE CRISIS since it must match "jim lee" and not just "Jim" and "Lee"
- "What can I search?" you ask. Well, for news items, it's basically the headline, byline, etc. For comics, graphic novels, and collectibles you can search the title and the names of the people who worked on it. So you can search for [Green Lantern] or [Ron Marz] or [Alan Scott] or [Hal Jordan] or [Kyle Rayner] or [John Stewart] or [Guy Gardner] or even [Mogo] if you think you're more unrelenting than Bolphunga.
- A search will match parts of a name. So:
- [bat] will match "Batman" and "Man-Bat"
- [batgirl] will match the word "batgirl" in BATGIRL: DEATH WISH
- [bat girl] will match BATGIRL: DEATH WISH, but will also match the words "bat" and "girl" in SUPERMAN/BATMAN VOL. 2: SUPERGIRL
OK, have fun. And remember, if you can't find it here, we probably no longer recognize the existence of the universe it was in. Sorry.
